Digital Marketing actually levels the playing field, providing small and medium enterprises with the chance to compete against the big boys and attract their share of targeted traffic.

With digital marketing,

Small companies now have the resources to perform sales and marketing processes that were previously available only to large corporations.

 4. Digital Marketing Helps Generate Better Revenues

BENEFITS OF DIGITAL MARKETING

Higher conversion rates generated by effective digital marketing techniques will deliver loads of profitable benefits for you and your business in terms of better and higher revenues.

One of the reasons why digital marketing is taking over traditional marketing channels is the ability of internet marketing tools to interact with targeted audiences in real time.

Engagement in any form is what your customers expect to receive when interacting with your brand or business.

How your business handles such engagements and interactions will spell the difference between business success and failure interacting and providing your customers with proper engagement points can give you an insight of what your targeted audiences want.

BENEFITS OF DIGITAL MARKETING

The power of digital marketing lies in its ability for attracting targeted traffic.

The types of audiences for your content are most likely already prepared to know more about your brand, products or services and may be interested enough to purchase what you have to offer.

Delivering on what you promised will help you develop a better relationship with your targeted audiences, help them transition into paying customers that will go back and interact with your site some more – on a regular and continuous basis.

This will prove beneficial for your brand reputation, as satisfied customers will most likely tell other people about their experience with your brand, product or service.

Your brand reputation will go viral as expected, further opening new doors of opportunities for reaching bigger markets and attain business growth.

7. Digital Marketing Provides better ROI for Your Marketing Investments

BENEFITS OF DIGITAL MARKETING

With better revenues and better branding, Digital Marketing can provide a better Return on Investments (ROI) than traditional media and marketing channels.

With traditional media, the cost is too exorbitant for small and medium enterprises to leverage on, and the results received are somewhat vague and difficult to measure.

Digital Marketing, on the other hand, can easily be tracked and monitored, with results immediately realized and measured as soon as targeted audiences provide contact information, subscribe to a newsletter or training program, or make a purchase.

The key to success in Digital marketing, however,  is to generate a steady flow of targeted traffic that converts into sales and leads. The more your business generates this kind of traffic, the faster you can realize your ROI.

8. Digital Marketing Earns People’s Trust

BENEFITS OF DIGITAL MARKETING

Digital Marketing rides on the current online trend that focuses more on social media signals resulting from a direct and more personalized interaction between a brand or business and their targeted audiences.

In the Nielson Global Online Consumer Survey that involved 25 thousand consumers coming from at least 50 countries, 90 percent of respondents claimed they would trust information about a particular brand, product or service if the data comes from people they know.

Digital Marketing leverages social media signals, social proof and testimonials from actual consumers who have previously purchased, joined or availed of a product or service marketed by a particular brand or business.

The more reliable these social signals are, the higher the trust rate it can generate from targeted audiences most of which can be potential customers.

9. Digital Marketing Entices People to Take Favourable Action

BENEFITS OF DIGITAL MARKETING

While social signals and testimonials help earn trust from targeted audiences. Digital Marketing makes use of effective strategies that will entice people to take a favourable action your brand or business intends them to take.

Conversion to leads or sales is still initiated and under full control by the website visitor.

They are not compelled to do so but digital marketers can make use of clever and innovative ways to entice conversion using Calls-To-Action.

Calls-To-Action specifies what your web visitors should do next – either to sign up, like, download something, call or buy specific steps that will entice them to perform a favourable action.

Innovative forms, buttons and texts are optimized according to copy, colour scheme, graphics and even positioning on the page to generate the best results in terms of generating favourable action.

BENEFITS OF DIGITAL MARKETING

Many kinds of people like these come and go, but a targeted few will actually make a purchase and if satisfied, will come back for more at a later date.

If you get less of the later and more of the few, sooner or later your brick-and-mortar business will cease to exist.

Your online business can be likened to this.

Even if you have tons of website visitors but none of them ever convert, your business will also cease to exist.

Digital Marketing helps you make use of proven strategies and techniques that attract not necessarily more traffic but highly targeted traffic that delivers results. Digital Marketing Skill Gap

gaps-in-digital-marketing-skills

I am sure you’ve heard of digital marketing skill gap.

It has been written about in HubSpot blog and marketingtechnews, the truth is there is a blatant huge digital marketing skill gap in the industry and this often becomes very difficult in implementing your digital marketing plans for your business goals.

If your online business doesn’t have enough talent and skill in the digital marketing niche, it may become one of the major reason why your marketing strategy doesn’t work.

What is Digital Marketing skill gap?

“A skill gap is a difference between the skills required to complete a certain task and the actual skills possessed by the employee in person.”

As an entrepreneur, I wish that I had learnt digital marketing before getting into my first online business.

I founded digitalmarketingskill.com (formally vibewebsolutions.com) in 2012, in my bedroom with just a laptop, a sofa, bed and internet connection during my Master’s at the University of Portsmouth in the UK.

Before I started my digital marketing consulting firm, I teamed up with my flatmate to start an online hotel booking business.

I lost all my savings from a summer internship I did to a digital marketing firm that drove little or no results for the online business.

I became broke and frustrated that I took matters into my own hands and decided to learn digital marketing.

So, I read all the books, blogs and watched all the videos I could get my hands on.

Then I got to testing.

A lot of the things I tried sunk, however, I just kept going.

I didn’t want to give up.

Eventually, I started getting traffic, converting the traffic into sales and retaining more customers.

I became obsessed and passionate about digital marketing as I started getting clients in different countries and continents.

Now, my goal is to help and empower 10,000 people in the next 5 years to succeed in their business or career using smart digital marketing skills, channels and strategies.

I hope you understand my short story, digital marketing is no overnight success, it’s hard work, consistency and dedication.

It’s obvious I had wasted my money by giving my online booking business to a set of digital marketers who drove no result because they probably aren’t good at the profession.

What digital marketers don’t know is, they have been hit hard by a growing list of people who don’t believe in their capabilities as a digital marketer.

When you ask them to rank themselves, they tend to give themselves very poor ranks which don’t speak well of their capability as digital marketers.

They asked 1,100 digital marketers to rank themselves on a 100 point Digital Capabilities Index (with 100 indicating best practice). Shockingly, the average digital marketers ranked themselves at a 57 which is very low.

Looking at the table above, employers and businesses would agree that the skill gap in the digital marketing arena is so real!
If you have the proactive ability to foresee the future and break the chain, this will surely be of greater benefit to you when it comes to discovering your digital marketing skills.

Among other benefits you’d get when you discover your weakness:

  • It will give you more job security.
  • It will make you more hireable.
  • It will improve your credibility and confidence.
  • It will make you an A-level digital marketer.
Not a bad plan, right?
So how can marketers ensure that the digital marketing skills they have are the skills they need to be successful?

How Long Will It Take to See Results With Digital Marketing?

With digital marketing, it can often feel like you’re able to see results much faster than you might with offline marketing due to the fact it’s easier to measure ROI.

Notwithstanding, it conclusively depends entirely on the balance and effectiveness of your digital marketing approach.

If you spend time establishing comprehensive buyer personas to know the needs of your audience, and you concentrate on building quality online content to attract and convert them, then you’re likely to see strong results within the first six months.

If paid advertising is part of your digital strategy, then the results come even quicker — but it’s recommended to focus on building your organic (or ‘free’) reach using content, SEO, and social media for long-term, sustainable success.
