One good thing about advertising campaigns is that it can be applied to both digital marketing and traditional marketing.
You don’t have to necessarily have an online business before you can use digital marketing to grow your business. You can setup an online store for your physical business.
Do you know that 88% of all online shoppers do online research before buying a product? You see why it’s important for your business to have an online store.
This is also a reason for you to structure advertising campaign for your business. Take for instance, Person A wants to buy a pair of shoes and comes online to search for stores where shoes are sold just like in the image below.
The customer checks the stores online and probably did not find their choice. And then you as a business owner who has a shoe store, takes advantage of that and your ads starts showing up everywhere with the same message to Person A.
Person A gets convinced to buy from you, visits your online store, and then buy.

Importance of Advertising Campaign
1. Reach your audience
It helps your business to be able to reach its target audience with the message of your brand. Imagine creating a beautiful artwork, and deciding to just put in a box and hid it in your warehouse.
This action has defeated the purpose of which the artwork was created because the people who should see it cannot see it inside a box in your warehouse except if you bring it out to the shelf.
When you bring it to the shelf, the person who should see it will see and buy from you.
The same thing applies to your business or brand, no matter how good your business is, if you don’t advertise it, the people who should see it won’t see it and of course, they won’t buy because they can’t buy what they can’t see.
This type of advertising requires more ads so as to establish your authority especially if you are just starting out.
2. Business visibility
Aside from reaching your target audience, it is also important to gain visibility for your brand or business. Achieving this visibility can be done through effective advertising campaigns.
As a business owner, having clear goals is necessary when starting out, as these goals will help determine the type of advertising campaign that will be most effective for your objectives.
Making your business visible serves the purpose of showcasing to users that you exist and have what they need or might need in the future. I
t’s not necessary for them to make a purchase immediately, but the goal is to imprint your existence in their minds. This visibility increases the likelihood of generating sales and referrals from individuals who may not have been your target audience initially.
3. Increase sales
The big goal of every business is to make profit, and for profit to exist, you need to make sales regardless of either you are a product based business or a service-based business.
Advertising helps you to reach your target audience, it helps to establish visibility and also brings increase sales for whatever kind of products you are offering.
Person C needs a brand new laptop, searches online and your store pops up, he checks all the products you have, picks the one he/she wants and pays for it.
Let’s say 100 or more people do the same thing, you just made extra sales instead of just leaving your products in your warehouse/store.
Basically, advertising campaigns helps your business to grow and gain credibility over time.
At the beginning of this article, I promised to share with you the advertising campaigns and I will be doing that in the other paragraphs of this article.
Types of Advertising Campaigns
1. Email Marketing
This is the use of emails to advertise your products and the services you offer. It can also be used as a means of creating communicational relationships with your audience.
It can also be used to inform your existing customers of sales, discounts, new products and services. For example, a brand can send out an email campaign to inform its customers of a new product or discount on the existing products.
2. Paid Advertising Campaign
Here, you pay for this advertising unlike email marketing. You pay the owner of the ad space in exchange for use of that space to advertise your business. This payment is usually settled through a bidding process between marketers and the owner of the ad space
Paid advertising is any kind of advertising that you have to pay for, versus owned or earned advertising.
With paid advertising, marketers pay the owner of ad space in exchange for use of that space. The price paid for the ad space is often settled through a bidding process between marketers and the ad space owner.
There are different types of paid advertising, and they include:
Paid search: This involves the use of images and text as ads on platforms like google.
Display ads: This has to do with displaying ads to website visitors. The ads here are served based on the user’s website browsing activity.
Bidding on keywords plays a crucial role in placing advertisements related to specific keywords at the top of the search engine results page (SERP). In paid search, advertisers incur costs only when users click on their advertisements, giving rise to the alter-ego pay-per-click (PPC).
To distinguish between paid and organic search results, observe a small label adjacent to the link. The label indicates that the result is an advertisement, as illustrated in the image below.

3. Social Media Advertising
Achieve quick ROI by executing activities in real-time and tracking sales sources through UTM codes when tagging your advertisements. This proactive approach enables swift return on investment.
Release your brand’s personality freely on social media, as it provides a more relaxed platform compared to paid search advertising or television commercials. This freedom allows for a more authentic connection with your audience.
When considering social media advertising, it’s crucial to recognize that not everyone in your target audience uses every platform. To maximize effectiveness, start by identifying your audience and determining the platforms they frequent.
Organically, you can advertise if you already possess a large audience. However, if you aim to reach a new audience, paid advertising becomes the effective choice for you.
